Social, political and legal infrastructures can have a significant impact on one’s experience with healing following trauma. Below are ways that you can engage with the infrastructures that influence the experiences of survivors, to make them safer and more trauma-informed for others.
STATE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS REFORM
The bulk of the work of Statute of Limitation reform happens on the state level. If you want sample drafts of outreach for when you contact your representative, we can also supply this for you, just reach out to the campaign team here.
SCHOOL REFORM
Policies and procedures are important to making any school as safe as possible and accountable to students. Find out how safe your school is and learn how you can make it safer.
FAITH COMMUNITY REFORM
The National Child Protection Training Center offers webinars and other materials that can help make your place of worship safe for children.
LEGAL SUPPORT
Deciding to pursue legal action is not for everyone but for those who are interested in speaking to a lawyer about a potential case, Aequitas can help. SNAP can also often recommend local legal support based on location.
